Bennington Area Habitat for Humanity Thinking Globally, Acting Locally

There are ten active Vermont affiliates and chapters. Rutland County is the only county no longer served by an affiliate, but they have a group actively seeking affiliation.  Vermont affiliates meet in the fall and spring of each year to share experiences and to discuss ways to serve Vermont.

A group in Rutland County is working to start a Habitat affiliate.  Rutland County once had an active affiliate but it closed in 2002.  Prior to closing, it had built five homes.  A group led by Paul Brown has started to work with Habitat International to bring Habitat back to Rutland County, the only Vermont county that is not currently served by a Habitat affiliate.  Anyone interested in helping in any way to form the affiliate should contact Paul.  Our affiliate is very happy that Paul has recruited a group to bring Habitat back to Rutland County.  There is a big need for Habitat in the county.  Our affiliate is doing what it can to help with the process.  Click on  This email address is being protected from spambots. We will post news of developments on our website until they develop their own site.  Check back here for new developments.
