The Good and Bad of Kratom

In one way or the other, we all use substances. You might have judged someone for using recreational drugs but then you went ahead and poured yourself a drink. Even if you don’t drink alcohol but love your morning coffee, you’re still using some sort of a substance. Some substances are legal, others illegal and it’s pretty hard to determine where that line should be drawn. Krato is one of the legal highs you can get but it’s still frowned upon.

There are some very promising benefits to using Kratom but then again, there are also a bunch of possible side effects as well. On this page, we’ll try to highlight some of the primary benefits and harms that are associated with Kratom use. Kratom contains a number of alkaloids that are beneficial for your organs but the active substance for which kratom is really sought out by users is called mitragynine. This is an opioid-like substance with pain-relieving properties.

Taking kratom can cause an increase in energy, along with feelings of euphoria although certain strains of the plant are known to have a more sedative quality to them. Using kratom can also cause an increase in your sex drive, which is another benefit associated with its use. A lot of people have a hard time quitting opioid medications because of the withdrawal symptoms. The mitragynine found in kratom leaves can relieve withdrawal symptoms from opioids.

While kratom does have its benefits, it’s unwise to ignore the fact that it can still be addictive if abused and you can still experience withdrawals from it. Kratom withdrawals are just as bad as opioid withdrawals, which is why users should keep their doses in check.
